Project Medical Doctors – 10 Posts (TZ)

SPAF’s doctors provide life-saving care every day in our projects. Depen-
ding on the project, you may be involved in setting up an HIV/AIDS, paediatric or mother
and child health treatment programme. As a medical doctor you will also plan, organise and
evaluate medical activities in collaboration with the country’s health care staff working at
SPAF intervention sites. These facilities may include primary health care centres, outpatient
consultations or a hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure ongoing training of the multidisciplinary medical/paramedical team in order to optimize the quality of care and
empower the staff

Manage the team under your responsibility, supervising performance, organizing and scheduling shifts and rotations,
directly participating in emergencies and on-calls if necessary

Carry out outpatient and inpatient consultations and follow-up based mainly but not only on clinics, prescribing the necessary treatment in line with SPAF protocols and ensuring the quality of care

Keep the patient and/or family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to
be followed

Check and control the rational distribution of medicines and equipment

Assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards such as ensuring the quality, disinfection and sterilization of
medical equipment

Fill in patient files, collect and analyze medical data and participate in medical reporting

Monitor the proper functioning of the department, equipment and materials

Depending on our activities and needs, your responsibilities may be adapted and evolve according to the specific projects.
You will not face these challenges alone; other SPAF team members (both international and locally hired staff) will provide
technical support, including comprehensive guidelines and protocols
